Junior Firefighters Program
Over 80% of our adult members began as a junior firefighter.
Junior firefighters age from 14 to 17. Juniors assist firefighters with fire ground operations and help with tasks around the station. Juniors can also take their classes and prepare for interior operations by the time they turn 18 and become senior firefighters.

Training
The process isn't easy because the job isn't easy. CBFD 80 believes in continual training sessions to stay sharp, stay up to date, and to stay safe. CBFD holds bi-weekly in house trainings on various topics and strategies. All Firefighters are required to complete the Essentials in Firefighting modules. More information on Essentials classes and other courses can be found at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center (LCPSTC)
