Since noon yesterday, the volunteers have answered 6 calls for service. The first was for a reported gas leak in the borough. Then 2 hours later, the Ladder assisted Company 76 with a fire alarm in West Hempfield Township. Then 2 hours later, Engine 80 handled a small trash fire in the borough. The evening brought a motorcycle crash in the borough with the Rescue, Engine, and Traffic making the response. The overnight hours brought a request from the police department for the Traffic to assist with closing Route 30 for a short time. Then around 0430 hours, the Rescue and Traffic took in a crash on North Third Street in the borough.
